The beauty of the Amalfi Coast has attracted travelers from all over the world to this gorgeous Italian region for years. With picturesque cliff views and scenic drives, the Amalfi Coasts dramatic landscapes keeps bringing repeat travelers to experience the breathtaking houses and crystal blue waters off the coastline. My husband and I did a solo-turned-couples trip to Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi. While I was there I made this Amalfi Coast Travel Guide packed with a list of my must-see things to do for anyone planning a trip to the Amalfi Coast.
I’m a beach girl, and if you are anything like me, you’ll want to visit one or many of the most sought after beaches: Marina Grande, Arienzo Beach, Maiori Beach, Erchie Beach, Gavitella Beach, Santa Croce Beach, Marina di Vietri, Furore beach, Marina di Praia. Bring your camera so you can snap some amazing photos. If you follow me on social media you may have seen some of my photos from Maiori Beach and Minori Beach. However, I would also checkout Arienzo Beach Club, located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Positano away from the crowd and noise of the center. The big orange umbrellas and lounge chairs make for the perfect photo backdrop! Santa Croce Beach is also a favorite of mine.
When it comes to food there really are too many options of greatness to choose just one restaurant. You guys know I’m a foodie, so this list is just a jumping off point. The Italians know great recipes! If I have to narrow my recommendations to only a few, I would say this list is guaranteed to leave you full and fulfilled: Il Pino Praiano, Salvatore Ravello, Trattoria Da Armandino, Babel Ravello, La Taglita Positano, Ristorante Franchino Praiano, Il Pirata Prainao, Costa Diva Praiano, La Cala Delle , Lampare Praiano, Rada Positano, La Taverna Del Leone, Da Ciccio Cielo Mare, Sensi Amalfi, Rosselinis, Adamo & Eva Positano and Marina Grande Amalfi. Be sure to indulge in the fresh pizza, gnocchi and lasagna.
Depending upon the type of travel experience you want there are a good amount of bars and clubs for the nightlife seeker. Since I was traveling with my husband our trip was more about quality time, beaches and great food, but here are a few places that came highly recommended to us, and a few we checked out on our own: Cafe MirantePasso Duomo, Franco’s Bar, Bar Le Fioriere, On Fire Beach club, Treville Beach club and Fontelina. We really liked the cliffside location at On Fire Beach Club and the views at Franco’s Bar.
Most of our trip was packed with things to do and see. Plan accordingly because there is so much you don’t want to miss. Rent a car or a scooter and enjoy the beaches, tourist attractions, gardens and cliffs! Here are some of my top recommendations: Scoter ride, Il Sentiero Dei Hike, Chiesa di Santa Maria Church, Walk around in Positano, Emerald Grotto, Grotta di Fornillo, Capri, Boat trip and of course Shopping! I shared a few photos from Cascading Gardens of Villa Rufolo on my Instagram, too. If you time it right you can enjoy a beautiful walk, photo shoot or picnic there.
We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Giordano, a 3-minute walk from the cascading gardens of Villa Rufolo, but there are a number of quaint and accommodating hotels to stay at for any price range. If you are planning to hop around from different hotels here are a few I suggest checking out before you make your reservations: Le Sirenuse, Hotel Santa Caterina, Monastero Santa Rosa, Caruso, Villa Cimbrone, Palazzo Alvino, Casa Angelina, Il San Pietro, Bellevue Syrene and Villa Tre Ville Positano.
I hope this blog post inspires you to book your Italian getaway and enjoy some of the best of the Amalfi Coast. I’m headed on another island adventure soon so be sure to follow me on social media for more tips and travel guides @lavi.travels!
